The pan-European organisation "Women in Europe for a Common Future" (WECF) has launched a baby's room health-safety tour
through an interactive game
With WECF’s consent, we are here presenting the WECF project “Nesting”,
launched 17th February 2009. The project aims to raise parents’ awareness of
the relation between child health and environmental pollution, so much present
in our everyday life.
The Nesting
project proposes advices so to guarantee a healthy environment to our newborns
and small children. It provides information on toxic substances which can be
found in many products aimed for children, from furniture to cosmetics, clothes
and toys. The aim of the project Nesting is to help parents to find healthier, effective
and feasible alternatives.
Babies and small children spend much of their time inside and are
therefore vulnerable to interior pollution. The Nesting project responds to the
need to be better and more accurately informed about risks related to interior
pollution. The project offers various alternatives to minimize those risks. By
diminishing the exposure of children, in their key period of development to
various types of pollution, we can contribute long term to the improved health
of the future adult population as well.
